Understanding the Weekly Graph Information

The weekly ethernet traffic graph page displays the ethernet traffic data for each active ethernet port over the last seven days. Each data point on a graph is a thirty minute average of the ethernet traffic during the last seven days. The graph also displays the following information:

Current Inbound: Last thirty minute inbound ethernet traffic average measured for the specified port.
Maximum Inbound: Maximum inbound ethernet traffic average in the last seven days for the specified port.
Average Inbound: Average inbound ethernet traffic in the last seven days for the specified port.
Current Outbound: Last thirty minute outbound ethernet traffic average measured for the specified port.
Maximum Outbound: Maximum outbound ethernet traffic average in the last seven days for the specified port.
Average Outbound: Average outbound ethernet traffic in the last seven days for the specified port.

Example:

Current Inbound:4.3 kB/s (0.0 %)
Maximum Inbound:342.2 kB/s (5.2 %)
Average Inbound:9.3 kB/s (0.2 %)
Current Outbound:2.3 kB/s (0.0 %)
Maximum Outbound:400 kB/s (6.0 %)
Average Outbound:21.3 kB/s (0.7 %)

According to this example, the current thirty minute average for the inbound ethernet traffic is 4.3 kB/s. The maximum thirty minute average during the last seven days is 342.2 kB/s. The average of all the thirty minute averages for the inbound ethernet traffic during the last seven days is 9.3 kB/s. The percent number in brackets after each value represents the percentage of the maximum available capacity that this activity is using based on the type of ethernet card being used.

Also in this example, the numbers for the outbound ethernet traffic indicate the current thirty minute average to be 2.3 kB/s. The maximum thirty minute average during the last seven days is 400 kB/s. The average of all the thirty minute averages for the outbound ethernet traffic during the last seven days is 21.3 kB/s. The percent number in brackets after each value represents the percentage of the maximum available capacity that this activity is using based on the type of ethernet card being used.
